Dedham Estate Planning Lawyer
Where Family Comes First
Planning your legacy is best handled by an experienced practitioner who exclusively concentrates on estate planning. Since 1987, the Law Office of Frederick N. Pellegrini has helped individuals and small business owners throughout Dedham and the surrounding Counties, protect their families, not just for today, but for generations to come. We take a comprehensive approach to estate planning, which is why our practice area also spans into business law, special needs planning, tax planning, and more. Contrary to popular belief, estate planning is not just the transfer of one’s assets into Trusts, but also the focus on family planning to avoid the probate process after death. Unlike many attorneys, we prioritize the transfer of assets into Trusts. This is a critical, yet often overlooked, element of estate planning.Transferring assets into Trusts is fundamental in ensuring the Trusts are effective. Think about it this way — a Trust is like a bank account. A bank account will not work without funds, and similarly, a Trust will not work without the inclusion of assets. For this reason, Atty. Pellegrini is one of a handful of lawyers in Massachusetts who funds clients’ assets into their Trusts. Many law firms do not handle this important step in the process, which is why we invest the time, diligence, and resources needed to enhance clients’ financial during their lifetime and beyond.

Meet Our Team
We are a close knit legal team who ultimately wants to help protect your legacy.
What to Expect During Your Consultation
We want you to have clarity on what to expect when you work with us. Our Dedham estate planning attorney is focused on understanding clients and their needs first and foremost, which is why we have three meetings to accomplish this.
The first meeting intends to educate clients, learn about their families, and review their assets. As such, we discuss the basics of estate planning, including:
- Wills
- Trusts
- Asset protection
- Avoidance of probate
- Reduction or elimination of the Massachusetts estate tax
- Reducing legal fees
- Change of beneficiary
- Retirement planning
- Tax planning
- Generational planning
- Bloodline planning
Our lawyer will learn the family dynamics concerning clients’ relationships, family members with disabilities, money management, and more. In addition, we will collaborate on suitable successors to be personal representatives, trustees, appointees on powers of attorney, healthcare proxies, guardians, and the like. Our ultimate goal is to teach clients how to protect their families for several generations.
At the second meeting, we will draft and review preliminary documents in accordance with our clients’ asset compositions. These documents include:
- Will
- Power of attorney
- Health care proxy
- Revocable trust
- Real estate trust
At every stage in the process, we will show clients how their trust operates in conjunction with their documents. For instance, our lawyer will explain how a trust helps clients avoid probate, protect assets, reduce estate taxes, provide generational planning, and more. We really break it down for clients, so they truly understand how their documents function and impact their overall estate plan.
Should a client decide to retain us at the end of the second meeting, we will gather statements copies of their financial assets to transfer into their trust. The third meeting is focused on reviewing and signing all documents and, lastly, transferring the client’s assets into a trust.
